French Filet Lace
THE LINEN STITCH - LEVEL 2

Learn this almost forgotten stitch

Levels 1 & 2  are the first steps to learn the directions of Filet Lace.  By taking my class you will learn my tricks to go better and faster... +20 years of experience in this technique!

You will learn...

  • that something else is more important to make a delicate piece than the size of the filet net itself;
  • that shrinkage will make all the difference and we do like it;
  • how to write in filet lace language;
  • different knots for different uses so you can use the washing machine to clean large pieces;
  • many ways to finish a piece for differents uses;
  • how to hide and swim around;
  • AND YOU WILL MEET the REAL MERMIE!

After learning Level 2 you do not know the whole technique to swim free and transform any counted stitch patterns into a beautiful large curtain.  You will have to stay in the shalow waters, but you can realize small shadow shapes starting with this pretty doily with its beautiful cut border.  You can choose to do this Projet (No. 2 from the Instruction Book) or another one from the same level.

This is the project
to be done at Level 2
We can also take smaller projects of your choice
depending of how long is the class.
