Mermie is FILET LACE BY THE SEA.  She was born in April 17, 2001 because of the repetitive requests of my filet-lacemaker friends in France, Canada and the United States. Some of them wanted the 'so rare' knotted net, that was impossible to find at that time; and the new friends wanted me to show them how to do it. Frustrated by the physical distance separating us, and the lack of detailed information elsewhere, they asked me to share my "stash of netting" (oh my!!) and put my knowledge on paper. The result is a full time job that I love!! Thank you to my old friends

FILET LACE is my passion.  After almost 30 years, I still get Goosebumps when I talk about this subject. 

I have written an instruction book (item FL01): "Filet Lace - Introduction to the Linen Stitch", a well illustrated method with 3 levels of learning, making it easy to learn the basic stitch of Filet Lace, the Linen Stitch, all by yourself.
