Mermie is FILET LACE BY THE SEA.  She was born April 17, 2001 because of the repetitive requests of my filet-lacemaker friends in France, Canada and the new ones in the United States. Some of them wanted the 'so rare' knotted net, that was impossible to find at that time; and the new friends wanted me to show them how to do it. Frustrated by the physical distance separating us, and the lack of detailed information elsewhere, they asked me to share my "stash of netting" (oh my!!) and put my knowledge on paper. The result is a book of instruction (FL01), a Kit for beginners (FL104-12) and a full time job that I love!!
